Marsy’s Law Overview

Last week, a large group of paid subscribers took part in a webinar where we discussed the latest (confusing and wide sweeping) changes in Ohio law about when and how to redact crime victim information. We had a special guest joining Mark and Ryan – the attorney from the Ohio Crime Victim Justice Center who helped draft the new law. This was valuable, much sought after information about a legal area where there has yet to be any court guidance.

If you’re not a paid subscriber, join now – we have some very helpful webinars we’re planning for the near future.

Fun Fact

You already knew that some things are free. But did you know that nearly every public office in Ohio is prohibited from charging fees for electronic public records? After all, there’s really not a copy cost to pass along. There are a few exceptions, like: the BMV, courts, and some clerks of court. Their special records are permitted by statute or rule. All of your electronic records? Those are free! Like this.
