Did you make it to our last lunch webinar? We had so much fun. If you didn’t watch it, here’s a short clip. If you couldn’t join us, make sure you’re on the lookout for the next one.

You’re always in for a mix of insight on Ohio public records law and attempts at humor from Mark and Ryan.

Also, we want to welcome our new researcher to the team, Josh Hastings. He’s taking the place of the now-graduated Alan Shvartsman. Alan’s research and writing as crucial to every edition of PRB. We wish him the best of luck as he gears up to take the bar exam! And we’re grateful to Josh for joining the team.

We’re down to the wire for the budget!

The Governor is required to sign the 2-year budget by July 1, 2025 (and decide on any line item vetoes). In the last webinar, we covered that there are a bunch of potential changes in the works that will hopefully remain in the budget. We talk to people in and around the process and we’re cautiously optimistic that there will some pro-law enforcement changes.

Stay tuned for our next edition to see what passed and what didn’t!

Exceptions A through ZZ 149.43 (pp)

This edition turns to an exception that you probably didn’t learn about in school. Ohio lawmakers – responding to the potential threat of school shootings – passed a law permitting some teachers to get training to carry guns in school.
