Ohio Public Records Briefing - Issue #5
Happy Sunshine Week! Sorry we forgot to send you a card. But you can celebrate by perusing the latest edition of the Public Records Briefing!
Welcome to the Ohio Public Records Briefing Issue #5. We’re always excited about an issue of our Public Records Briefing - but even more so when it coincides with Sunshine Week!
Fun Fact
What’s Sunshine Week you say? Well, for a start, it’s six days longer than National Potato Chip Day (today!). And like this newsletter, you can crunch all you want – we’ll make more. Anyway… March 13-19 is Sunshine Week, a celebration of open government and transparency started by the American Society of News Leaders Association in 2005.
You can expect to see newspapers across the state writing about the importance of public records, talking about transparency and most importantly, the Ohio Attorney General’s office releases its updated version of the Ohio Sunshine Manual or Yellow Book as it’s affectionately known. FUN FACT: Mark Weaver from our Public Records Briefing team co-authored eight previous editions of this must-have resource. The 2022 edition just became available this morning (which is why this newsletter is a little later than usual).*
