Happy Monday! We hope you were able to tune into the subscriber-only Zoom webinar last week. We had 47 attendees, and we have many more subscribers than that, so many of you missed it! Perhaps you were watching this instead. Either way, if you missed it, you’ll want to read the “Big News” section below.
Fun Fact
Security records are defined in R.C. 149.433 as any record that “contains information directly used for protecting or maintaining the security of a public office against attack, interference, or sabotage … [or] to prevent, mitigate, or respond to acts of terrorism.”
These records are exempt from the Public Records Act to protect both the buildings and the public officials and employees working inside the buildings. This can include attacks against public official as well as public offices. The Ohio Supreme Court discussed this in a case involving the governor.
Big News
